The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft, sent to study Saturn and its satellite system, is the inspiration for these Orchestral Progressive Rock compositions. Using a virtual Symphonic orchestra, these songs also include vintage 70s keyboard emulators, such as a minimoog, mellotron, Hammond B3 organ and a Fender Rhodes electric piano.
“The Cassini Mission” (composed, performed, designed and produced by myself) follows the spacecraft from its inception and launching, its 7-year voyage to arrive at Saturn, and its studies of the rings and moon system.
The singing insects are here!
INSECTIA - the album is now available in all streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc). All songs (except for one) were composed, performed, recorded and arranged by me. I was lucky to have some wonderful singers join me in this project, as we give voice to many insects - each song a different order (ie. Lepidoptera for the caterpillar, Ephemeroptera for the Mayfly, etc.). I even sing in a couple of songs: I’m “roach no.1” in Blattodea (The Roaches), the “Lovebug” in Diptera, and assorted backup vocals on many others.
The Album was a combination of several of my deepest, earliest interests: Music, and the World of Nature. When I was 9 years old I would eagerly await the next book in the Time-Life Nature series to be published, to be devoured, read and re-read, until I was a little walking encyclopedia on the Animal Kingdom.
